Lifelong Puslinch resident, Mackenzie Ross, is attending her 5th World Championships in baton twirling. In preparation for this competition she came home from the University of Victoria at Christmas and devoted herself to training for this event. Little did we know a commitment she made to herself at age seven would see her travel to Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia and Norway to compete with the World’s best athletes.
This competition’s venue is Hakons Hall built for the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway. Today Mackenzie fulfilled her dreams and placed in the top ten for her 2 baton event sharing the stage with over 600 athletes representing 18 countries.
