Puslinch Resident To Be Honoured By City Of Guelph
Nathan Skoufis, Owner and Head Instructor of Guelph Family Martial Arts, is set to be honored by the City of Guelph and Mayor Cam Guthrie Thursday March 1st for recently being crowned the 2018 Welterweight NASKA World Champion.
This is the third straight NASKA World Title for Skoufis who is also currently ranked #1 in the world. Skoufis was the lone Canadian to win an Adult NASKA Sparring World Title, his 13th World Championship in total. Skoufis started martial arts at age six, he is also now a fifth-degree black belt and lifetime resident of the area.
The presentation will be at his studio “Guelph Family Martial Arts” located at 340 Woodlawn Road West Suite 20 starting at 6 pm, the event is a free and open to the public. Skoufis says “It is a surreal and amazing opportunity to be able to represent this community on the international stage, thank you everyone for your continued support it is truly humbling, it is something I will never be able to repay. We truly live in the best community in the world, this area has a special place in my heart.”
With martial arts set to become an Olympic Sport, Skoufis is a favorite to bring home the gold medal, which he has now set his sights on.
