Aunt Bertie’s Christmas Pudding

It’s Christmas time again!

Let’s make Aunt Bertie’s Christmas Pudding!

Sift together:

  • 1 Cup Four
  • 1 Tsp. Of Baking Soda
  • ¼ Tsp. Salt
  • ½ Tsp. Cloves
  • ¼ Tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1 Tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar

Add:

  • ½ cup Raisins
  • ½ cup Currants
  • 1 cup grated raw Carrots
  • 1 cup grated raw Potatoes
  • ½ cup Shortening melted
  • 1 Egg

Mix all together and steam for 3 hours.

Sauce to be poured over finished pudding, when served:

  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Corn Starch
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 3 or 4 cups Boiling Water

Boil until thickened slightly. YUMMY!
