Stuffies Everywhere!
They were there by the hundreds! Hand made teddies that is. They had lovingly been made in places like Florida, Saskatchewan, Quebec and Southern Ontario.
Many knitters attended the afternoon and some even drove from London to see all the teddies but they were especially excited to hear the speaker from Pan Missions talk about where the teddies travel to.
This annual event started in 2000 when Alison McCrindle’s mom (Liz) brought the pattern and idea back from Scotland. She heard about the project while on holiday there and decided to knit some bears and then share the idea with others. Needless to say many people thought it was a good idea. These bears are sent to children in Guatamala, Haiti, Peru and China where there is a great need due to poverty, natural disaster and war. In 2016, Duff’s church decided to get more involved in this worthwhile cause and have been helping ever since.
