Market Minute: Celebrate Canada Day with the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market this Saturday, July 1
It’s all about the Great White North and helping celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday this weekend at the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market where red and white is the theme. Start your day with Aberfritters where the Moch family will “Canadianize” your single order of succulent apple fritters. What does that mean? Come and find out! They are also offering a promotion on half and full dozen orders: a $1 coupon off your next order.
If you’ve already had the Optimist’s pancake breakfast at the Puslinch Community Centre then come on over to the market after for a special delight. The Burrs and the Bees will have their first batch of 2017 spring honey. 2017 will be a special year for spring honey because they’ve had an extra flow of nectar from the locust trees this year. The bees can only get nectar from Honey Locust and Black Locust trees when the temperatures are high and this year they were. This produces a very special and very mild honey.
Highlights this week are:

Terra Verde Homestead: pea shoots and spring turnips
Warner Orchards: cherries and strawberries
