PCs nominate Arnott to run again in 2018
MPP Ted Arnott will once again be the Progressive Conservative Candidate in Wellington-Halton Hills in the coming provincial election, expected to be in June of 2018.
Mr. Arnott was acclaimed as the PC Candidate on January 7th at the local Party’s Nomination Meeting in Acton. His nomination was moved by Puslinch Township Councillor Sue Fielding and seconded by Georgetown resident Graeme Goebelle.
“Ontario needs change. We need a change of Government,” Mr. Arnott told those in attendance.
During his remarks, Mr. Arnott reflected on his years of service in the Ontario Legislature, thanked his wife Lisa, his staff and supporters, and criticized the Wynne Liberal Government’s policies on hydro, the economy and health care.
He spoke of PC Leader Patrick Brown’s hard work and dedication to building a better province.
The veteran MPP also offered his own suggestions for Ontario’s future, and highlighted some of the infrastructure needs of Wellington-Halton Hills.
“The work is not yet done, and as such, I accept your nomination to stand as the Progressive Conservative Candidate in the next provincial election,” he concluded.
At the Annual General Meeting which followed the Nomination Meeting, Puslinch Township resident Glenna Smith was returned as the Wellington-Halton Hills Provincial PC Association’s President, and a new Executive was installed.
“I want to congratulate Ted. We have an exciting time ahead, as we make plans for the coming provincial election,” Mrs. Smith said. “We invite everyone who shares our goals to get involved, join our Association, and help us to re-elect Ted to another term at Queen’s Park.”
