Celebration of Life: Glennys Stewart

We learn of the passing of Glennys Stewart at Hospice Wellington on Friday, January 15, 2016, in her 87th year. Glennys lived in Puslinch Township nearly all of her life and was widely known.

Glennys was the daughter of Harold Bell and his wife, Edna Lewis. She grew up beside the Lewis General store in Aberfoyle. She started her career as a teacher at 18 years of age, in the Third Concession School in Puslinch, where she taught from 1947 to 1952. Her teaching career spanned 37 years. Glennys was a member of Duff’s Presbyterian Church and served for many years as Clerk of Session.

She was the mother of Laurie Stewart (Don Davidson) and the late Stirling Stewart (2011) and grandmother of Lauren Elizabeth. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Bell, of Cambridge and her brother-in-law, Lou Mirstik of Boyne City, Michigan and his daughters, Jackie, Debbie and Pam.

Visitation is at Duff’s Church from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016, with memorial service to follow at 1:30 p.m.
