Sunrise Fundraising Event Sold Out
On Sunday ,June 25th from 1pm to 4pm, Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre, a registered Canadian charity ,will be hosting their annual signature fundraising event at the farm. This event is now SOLD OUT!
Guest speaker and MC, Jeff Tiessen, lost both his arms in an electrical accident at age 11. He is a Paralympic Champion and record holder in the 400-metre event, a husband and father of two. Jeff is an inductee in the Canadian Disability Hall of Fame ,the Windsor Essex County Sports Hall of Fame ,and the University of Windsor Sports Hall of Fame . He is also the proud recipient of the Senate of Canada’s Sesquicentennial medal .
Jeff will be presenting ribbons to four young riders from, 5 to 7 years of age ,from this year’s filmed musical ride ,featured on screen at the event .
Also ,on screen will be a 4-minute video featuring young adults with special needs from Sunrise’s Life Skills program. This promotional video was produced by filmmaker Catherine Rix and filmed by cinematographer Kurt Carpenter of the Amazing Race, Canadian and American feature series .
The gourmet BBQ lunch is catered by Little Mushroom Catering ,Cambridge ,with dessert by Decadently Yours ,Guelph .
There is a Silent Auction and a Live Auction with auctioneer Robert Milburn of Milburn’s Auto Sales & Service, Aberfoyle .
All proceeds from this event go directly to the many Sunrise programs that have been empowering young people with disabilities for the past 40 years.
