Puslinch Resident Unhappy With Rezoning For New Trucking Depot
Despite overwhelming opposition from over 100 plus residents it is more than likely that the rezoning will be approved by council. Simple observation from the meeting would tell you that. The submission was hundreds of pages long and not a single question other than procedural was asked by the mayor or council. Numerous objections ranging from noise pollution to traffic to water runoff and pollution were raised – total silence from council.
What benefit does the municipality expect to get? What revenues would you expect from the taxes on this industrial site vs commercial establishments? None of this was asked or even raised by the council. Whose interest is the council protecting? The answer to that question was answered at the end of the meeting when the applicant and the mayor and councilors were high fiving and congratulating each other.
