A Celebration Of Life: Anita Nichol
NICHOL, Anita (nee Smith) – Of Puslinch, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, in her 81st year, at home, surrounded by family.
Beloved wife of the late Ivan Nichol (2006), loving mother to Robert (Shelly), Heather Foley, Ian and Amy Baker (Steven). Adored grandmother of Angus, Samantha and Max. Anita was predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Hazel Smith (Allan) of Campbellville/Milton, her brother Jim and sister Elaine. She is survived by her sisters Carol Johnson (Gary) of Nova Scotia and Jane Baynton (Charles) of Rockwood, ON, nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many, including her friends and family at the Morriston United Church and her book club.
Anita was a dear friend and mother to many. She was small but mighty, and her door was always open to anyone who wanted, or needed, a visit or a place to rest. She was active in her church community and was quick to volunteer. She helped so many of us in so many ways. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff, the doctors, and the nurses of Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton, for their kindness and compassion through this difficult time. Thank you for all you do… you are appreciated.
COVID-19 protocols remain in place. Cremation has taken place. Public visitation will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME (519-822-0051 / wallcustance.com), 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 7-9 pm. Visitors must sign up in advance by clicking the link in Anita’s notice on the funeral home website. A private service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1:30. Guests may attend remotely through Zoom by clicking the link in Anita’s notice on the funeral home website. The burial will take place at Crown Cemetery following the service and will open for all who wish to attend.
