Heat Alert Continues For Wellington County
Environment canada is saying that the first heat event of the season will continue this week for Wellington County:
Temperatures will soar again to near the thirty degree mark today and Wednesday. Indications suggest above normal temperatures near thirty again on Thursday.
Humidex values in the mid to upper thirties will prevail each afternoon. Some relief is expected near the shorelines of the Great Lakes.
A cold front will deliver considerably cooler and less humid air to Southern Ontario on Friday.
Extreme heat affects everyone.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
