Puslinch Traffic Stop Nets Guns And Drugs
On January 28, 2020, at approximately 12:45 a.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle on Wellington Road 34 near Brock Road in Puslinch Township. The driver was stopped for a provincial offences violation. Investigation revealed that the driver was wanted by another Ontario police service.
Police arrested the driver and discovered he was in possession of a quantity of drugs including cannabis, methamphetamine, prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, and Canadian currency. The driver was also in unlawful possession of photo identification. Further to the arrest, officers uncovered a loaded hand gun in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, Richard Brian WISMER, 37-years-old of Georgian Bluffs Township. has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, Knowledge of an Unauthorized Weapon, Occupant of a Motor Vehicle having Knowledge of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000, two counts of Possession of an Identity Document Unauthorized, Trafficking Methamphetamines, Trafficking Clonazepam, Drive with Cannabis Readily Available and four counts of Suspended Driving. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of Justice – Guelph on March 6, 2020.
