RACING CHARGE IN PUSLINCH

On August 28, 2019, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 36 near Morriston. The officer observed a white cube-van travelling above the posted 50 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 100 km/h.

As a result, a man, 37-years-old of Hamilton has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on November 6, 2019. The accused’s driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

STEROIDS INTERCEPTED AT R.I.D.E.

On August 22, 2019 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Gore Road near Cambridge. At approximately 11:00 p.m. the driver of a brown pickup truck entered the R.I.D.E. check.

While speaking with the driver, officers observed a quantity of illicit drugs. Investigation revealed that that the driver was in possession of illegally obtained Schedule IV Substance, anabolic steroids.

As a result, a man, 31-years-old of Cambridge has been charged with Illegally Obtaining a Schedule IV substance and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on September 27, 2019.

*UPDATE* – TRAIN AND DUMP-TRUCK COLLIDE – TRUCK DRIVER CHARGED

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On August 14, 2019, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision at a train crossing on Concession Road 7 in Puslinch. It was reported that a west bound train and a north bound dump-truck had collided.

Investigators have concluded their investigation and have charged the driver of the dump truck, a man, 25-years-old of Brampton, with Disobey Traffic Sign and Careless Driving. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on October 16, 2019.

R.I.D.E. CHECK FINDS DRUGS AND STOLEN PROPERTY

On August 12, 2019 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Gore Road near Cambridge. At approximately 10:00 p.m. the driver of a black pickup truck entered the R.I.D.E. check.

Investigation revealed that the driver was suspended after the driver was unable to provide a registration for the vehicle or proof of insurance. Further investigation revealed that plates attached to the vehicle were stolen as were the validation stickers attached to those plates. Officers then located a quantity of crystal meth in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, a woman, 29-years-old of Cambridge has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine), Theft Under $5000, two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Operating a Vehicle without Insurance, Suspended Driving, Failing to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle, and Using Unauthorized Plates. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on September 17, 2019.
