Wellington County Museum and Archives Presents “Clock Talks”

Ever wonder about early Canadian clocks? On April 6, the Wellington County
Museum and Archives (WCMA) will be hosting a Zoom tour and presentation with special guest
Allan Symons, Curator of the Canadian Clock Museum. Symons will showcase the stories behind
some early Canadian clock companies from the late 1800s to the late 1900s.

“This presentation is sure to be a real treat for many clock collecting enthusiasts,” says Amy
Dunlop, curator of the Wellington County Collects series. “As part of the virtual programming
for our newest Wellington County Collects exhibit, For Old Time Sake, this presentation will
showcase some of the rarest Canadian clock stories.”

The WCMA invites participants to join the virtual presentation on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:00
pm. To participate please register online at www.wellington.ca/museum (before April 6).
Participants will receive an email confirmation with a link to the webinar prior to the start of
the event.

The Canadian Clock Museum opened to the public in May 2000 and is located in Deep River,
Ontario. The museum’s collection totals more than three thousand items from mantel clocks to
grandfather clocks, some of which date as early as the 1820s. “It is Canada’s only clock
museum, and the only one in the world telling the Canadian horology story,” says Allan Symons,
Curator and Founder of the Canadian Clock Museum.
