Wellington County Announces Additional Closures In Response To Covid-19
At this time, there are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in
Wellington County. County officials are working closely with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public
Health to respond to the situation.The County of Wellington is making additional changes to slow the spread of COVID-19.
In addition to the operational changes made over the weekend, County officials have made the
following decisions on further closures, restrictions and recommendations:
- All Wellington County Child Care and Learning Centres will be closed to the public
beginning on March 18, 2020 for the foreseeable future- All rentals at all Wellington County Libraries and the Museum and Archives are cancelled
until at least April 30, 2020- The County Administration Centre, Social Services Offices and Waste Facilities remain
open at this time. Residents are encouraged to use the Curbside Collection Programme
as a preferred alternative to bringing waste to County Waste Facilities- The County strongly encourages residents to consider using all online or phone services
and only attend a facility in person if absolutely necessary“The health and safety of our residents and our staff remains our top priority,” said Warden Kelly
Linton. “County officials did not make these decisions lightly. We realize the impact it has on our
residents. The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly. We will continue to monitor the situation
