Sex Assault Investigation Leads To Charges In Puslinch
On January 24, 2020, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report from a neighbouring police force of a sexual assault that occurred in Wellington County. It was reported that a female youth from Cambridge was a victim of a sexual assault at a residence on Townline Road in the Township of Puslinch.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Puslinch resident was charged with Sexual Assault on a Person under 16, Sexual Interference and Invitation to Sexual Touching on a Person under 16 contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on March 3, 2020.
This case is considered isolated as the perpetrator was known to the victim. Police will not be identifying the accused as it may risk identifying the victim.
