LaFarge Looking To Move 27 Million Litres Of Water Per Day At Expanded Gravel Pits
In 2009, the company was granted permits to take up to just over six million litres of water per day at three locations on the property at 7051 Wellington Road 124, but those permits will soon be expiring.
Late last month, the company applied to renew those expiring permits for a period of 10 years and added two additional sites, boosting its request to take water from six million to more than 27 million litres per day.
