McDONALD, Lorna Jean (nee Maltby) – Passed away peacefully at The Elliott Community on Sunday, August 26, 2018, in her 95th year.
Beloved wife of the late Stuart McDonald (March, 1986).
Mom of Carol and Ross Leef of BC, and Sharon McDonald of Guelph.
Gram of Rebecca and Andy Ashley (BC), Ryan Leef and Heather Kaytor (Yukon), Dan and Erin Logher (Puslinch), Jessica Logher (BC), Paul and Debbie Logher (London).
Great Gram of Erika Logher, Aaron Leef Kaytor, Gavin Logher, Keaghan Logher, Logan Ashley and Jared Ashley.
Survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Midge Maltby.
Will be missed by numerous Maltby/McDonald nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by son-in-law Hans Logher (2004) and granddaughter Heidi Logher (1975), 4 Maltby brothers and their wives and 8 McDonald brothers-in-law and their wives.
Family and friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 11 am – 12. A service of remembrance at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel will be followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Crieff Church or a charity of choice if so desired.
Special thanks go to the staff of the Ellington where Lorna resided for 3½ years and staff of the Wellington unit of The Elliott who compassionately guided Mom through her final week.
A tree will be planted in memory of Lorna J. McDonald in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:30 pm.
