Meet The Author Of “Puslinch At Work”

The Puslinch Historical Society is pleased to announce the release of a new Puslinch historical
book. The book is entitled “Puslinch At Work” by author, Robert Moore and is being released
Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Aberfoyle Library, Brad Whitcombe Room. Robert Moore grew
up in Puslinch and his family lived and worked in the Corwhin and Morriston areas of the
Township.

This work covers the entire township and presents the livelihoods and businesses of the
individuals and families from Puslinch’s earliest days through to 1965. This is about the farmers,
shopkeepers, millers, hoteliers, blacksmiths, coopers and the many others who lived and worked
to build the prosperity of Puslinch. The book however, also provides some of the interesting
history of the communities in which people lived and worked. For example, it explains how
Egypt came to be in Puslinch, why Killean’s railway station was originally called ‘Leslie’,
reveals Morriston’s own “Bomb Shelter” and relates a buried treasure story of Puslinch Lake.
The book also provides many interesting photographs in support of the text.

The PHS is sponsoring the June 23rd library event with a meet and greet with the author starting
with an introduction of the book at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited.
