Puslinch Resident Dave Rodgers Will Stand For Green Party In 2018 Ontario Election
Dr. Dave Rodgers will stand as the Green Party candidate for Wellington Halton Hills in the Ontario election June 7, 2018. In making the announcement at the nomination meeting, Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner endorsed Dr. Rodgers saying, “As an engaged citizen, Dave is concerned about living wages, affordable education, social justice and a strategy that includes a preventative approach to health care.” Mr. Schreiner underscored the match between the Green Party Platform and Dr. Rodgers professional background noting that “as an environmental scientist, Dave is particularly concerned with the need to maintain the health of our land, water and air for future generations.”
Dr. Rodgers worked for more than 25 years as a research scientist at the interface of energy and the environment with Ontario Hydro’s Research Division and its successors. Presently he works as an independent consultant and also as an assessor with the Standards Council of Canada and the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation. He represented Puslinch Township on the Hamilton Conservation Authority and serves as the township delegate to the Hamilton-Halton Source Water Protection Committee.
Dave and his wife, Sarah, have lived in Puslinch Township for more than 30 years and are parents of three adult children. Dave has been active in his community judging school science fairs and coaching local soccer and basketball teams. He is a dedicated outdoor enthusiast, an amateur gardener and a regular customer at local Farmer’s Markets.
Dave says, “I welcome the opportunity to present a real alternative for voters in Wellington Halton Hills and to return integrity and good policy to Ontario politics.”
