Crystal Meth Discovered On Driver In Puslinch
On Friday, January 19, 2018, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on Gore road, near Cambridge.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., the driver of a blue sedan entered the RIDE check. Officers asked the driver to provide his driver’s licence, vehicle registry and proof that the vehicle was insured as required under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The driver falsely identified himself as another person and could not provide the documents as requested. Investigation revealed the true identity of the male and that his driver’s licence was currently suspended by the Ministry of Transportation. The male become actively resistant when officers attempted to arrest him. When officers did arrest the male, a search revealed that he was in possession of crystal methamphetamine.
48-year-old, S. Randolph (Randy) SEATON, of Cambridge was charged with Obstruct Police, Impersonation, and Resist a Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code, Possession of Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and with Driving while Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 23, 2018.
