Aunt Bertie’s Christmas Pudding
It’s Christmas time again!
Let’s make Aunt Bertie’s Christmas Pudding!
Sift together:
- 1 Cup Four
- 1 Tsp. Of Baking Soda
- ¼ Tsp. Salt
- ½ Tsp. Cloves
- ¼ Tsp. Nutmeg
- 1 Tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
Add:
- ½ cup Raisins
- ½ cup Currants
- 1 cup grated raw Carrots
- 1 cup grated raw Potatoes
- ½ cup Shortening melted
- 1 Egg
Mix all together and steam for 3 hours.
Sauce to be poured over finished pudding, when served:
- 2 cups Brown Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Butter
- 2 tablespoons Corn Starch
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 3 or 4 cups Boiling Water
Boil until thickened slightly. YUMMY!
