It was a HOOT!
A hootenanny that is. It all happened at the Arkell United church on Friday, Oct 27th. This night was made even more special as it included a ham supper fundraiser with all the money going to various outreach programs. In the first picture, Marge, Bob, baby Seth and Alexis joined together for this 4 generations picture. There were about 150 dinners sold and there were even door prizes donated by local businesses. Jen and Dave were very grateful to finally sit and have dinner themselves after volunteering for the night.
Regardless of your age, perhaps you have a yearning to perform on a stage just like Alya did that night. She sang an original song while strumming a ukulele about two volcanoes in love. I spoke with her after about her performance and she stated that her inspiration comes from listening to Alyssa Carrera because she sings about being kind. This is what she tries to practise everyday with her own group of friends.
If your entertainment value includes:
- Listening to someone play the harmonica…
- Hearing people sing…
- Or tapping your toes while an accordion plays…
This is definitely an event that you don’t want to miss. The next Hootenanny will be at the Arkell Church on Friday, Nov. 24th starting at 7 p.m.
