Best friend and wife of Kenneth James Pearce, Proud Mother of Janice (Terry Barnard), Rob (Wendy), Greg (Lisa), Doug (Michelle) Grandmother of Michael (Jessica), Brandon, Stephanie (Brendan), Christian, Amy, Jordan, Courtney and Ben.
Donna was born in Preston Ontario on October 13th 1937. Predeceased by father George Edward (Ted) Wake and mother Dorothy Isobel Wake (nee Hogg) and infant brother Bobby. Survived by Sister Dale (Jim), and Brother Donald (Bette).
After graduating from Business College Donna married Ken the love of her life on October 25th 1958. After purchasing their first home together a couple years later her legacy began to grow when they started a family of their own. They raised all four children in that home in Hespeler. When in Hespeler they were members of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Donna was a Sunday School teacher, Explorer and CGIT Leader. Donna was an active member of the Athalie Reid group and a life member of the Womens Missionary Society. Donna & Ken both loved to sing and were members of St. Andrew’s Church Choir. Donna also shared her talents and abilities in the service of Hespeler Minor Hockey Mothers, where she was a past President. Donna and Ken moved to country property in Puslinch Township. Many happy memories were created in this fun loving country home. When in Puslinch Donna continued to be active with the WMS at Knox Church Crieff. Donna was an active volunteer with the Puslinch Pioneer, and organized a Craft Group that met at her home on a weekly basis.
Donna and Ken moved to Sauble Beach in 2007 where they have been spending their retirement years. While at Sauble Beach they have become active members of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Wiarton. They have both served as elders and members of the Choir. Donna has also continued her service with the WMS at St. Paul’s as well as the Service Club. They have met many wonderful friends here and enjoyed the slower pace of life.
Donna always made everyone who walked through their door feel welcome and right at home, no invitation required.
Donna will be extremely missed by her husband Ken (the love of her life) and her children and grandchildren, her siblings and nieces and nephews. As well as the many people that have had the privilege of calling her their friend.
To all, Donna will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unveiling determination and her unbreakable love for her family.
Donna’s family will welcome friends and relatives at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Sunday, December 11th from 2:00-3:30 pm for visitation, with Memorial Service to follow from 3:30-4:00 pm.
