Greenbelt Farmers’ Market Network Partners with TD Canada Trust to Help Grow Farmers’ Markets
The Greenbelt Farmers’ Market Network mission is to “support and enhance the agricultural sector by increasing connections between consumers and Greenbelt farmers.” This year they are doing that by offering selected farmers’ markets in Ontario $3500 each in TD Market Bucks to promote awareness of buying local fruit and produce from Greenbelt farmers.
What is a TD Market Buck? It’s a five dollar coupon that can be redeemed to purchase a favourite product from a number of farmers’ markets in Ontario, the closest to Guelph being the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market located on Brock Road in Aberfoyle in The Optimist Recreation Centre, next to the Puslinch Public Library and Puslinch Community Centre, just 5 minutes south of Guelph.
The program is generously being sponsored by TD Canada Trust and the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market is reimbursed for every TD Market Buck redeemed. To thank the financial institution for lending such a hand the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market vendors created a basket full of local goodies with produce, fruits and baked goods. On Monday, Blair Moch; President Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market, presented Evelyn Bellai of the TD Canada Trust Bank at 9 Clair Road West in Guelph with the bounty of local goodies to share amongst the branch.
TD Market Bucks will be distributed locally with pop up promotions and taste testings. If you see Blair or any other members of the market, take the time to find out more about how the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market is truly local. They will be more than happy to answer any questions you have about their vendors and the benefits of shopping local and fresh at the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market.
And be sure to use your TD Market Buck at the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market, open every Saturday 8am to 1pm, 23 Brock Rd South, Aberfoyle ON (South of Guelph)
