DUI, Racing and Drug Charges In Puslinch
DRINKING AND DRIVING CHARGE ALONG WITH RACING
On August 22, 2016 at approximately 7:02 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Wellington Road 86 near Wellington Road 30, Guelph-Eramosa Township and observed a 2015 GMC pickup truck speeding. It was locked on radar at 149 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The male driver was spoken with and the officer believed that the driver had consumed alcohol.
A Roadside Screening test was administered which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing.
44-year-old Brian JANS of Centre Wellington Township has been charged with;
Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code.
and
Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
Drug Charge For Speeder
On August 19, 2016 at approximately 11:20 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a male driving a 1999 Ford pickup truck that was speeding on Wellington Road 36 near Victoria Road South, Puslinch Township.
Police located suspected marihuana in the vehicle and the driver was arrested. He was also driving while under suspension and was released at the scene with court documents.
37-year-old Brock DUCHARME of Hamilton Township has been charged with Possession of Marihuana under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, along with Driving While Under Suspension and Speeding contrary Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 27, 2016.
