Reminder: Tomorrow (Friday) Is First Roadside Garbage/Recycling Pickup For Puslinch
This article is just to serve as a reminder that tomorrow is the first rural roadside collection day for garbage and recycling in Puslinch. From now on your pickup day will be every second Friday.
Place your recyclables in the two large blue boxes that were delivered to you and as always, place your garbage in the yellow user pay garbage bags. As of July 1st, the cost for user pay garbage bags has risen to $2 for large bags and $1.50 for small bags. Additional Blue Boxes can be purchased at the waste facility for $5 each.
Unfortunately, the information provided to residents states that you must “ensure materials are placed at the curb/roadside by 7:00 am on your collection day“. I don’t understand why we can’t start the collection later, say 9 or 10 am, so people don’t have to leave garbage out overnight. This would greatly reduce the issue of wildlife interference (a.k.a. garbage everywhere) and would cost nothing to implement.
If you have any questions or comments you can contact Wellington County Solid Waste Services at 519-837-2601.
Don’t forget to mention that garbage bags are available at the Saturday market and at Township office… see Lincoln mushrooms at the market for bags…
Hi Kevin. re hours of collection. You just have to get up earlier. LOL
Lol. I was hoping no one would think of that 🙂
The cost of taking your garbage to the facility should have been kept at $1 per bag as an incentive and not increased to the same cost as kerbside pickup, I would rather take mine than have it strewn about by wildlife and it is unreasonable to expect garbage collectors to pick-up the remnants of torn open bags. Nothing more depressing than driving to work at 6:30am seeing it all over the side of the road.
