Morriston’s Mount Carmel-Zion 175th Anniversary Celebration
The 175th Anniversary Sunday to celebrate worship as a congregation with many of our vsiting guests in Morriston at Mount Carmel-Zion United Church, was a total success.
It brought together community, a time to greet old and new friends, music to celebrate and fellowship to continue our conversations of family, faith and ministry.
As our year of celebration has unfolded, we have offered open doors to share our history which began in 1840. We look forward to our events planned for the year 2015. Our Senior’s Luncheons on October 7 and December 2 are hosted at the Puslinch Community Centre in Aberfoyle. The annual HARVEST & HOLLY BAZAAR and Lunch, November 14, 10:30 – 1:00 is also hosted at the community centre as we have outgrown our space at the little church on the corner of Victoria and Church Streets in Morriston.
Your family will enjoy having BREAKFAST with SANTA on Saturday, November 21, watch your local papers to keep you posted on these future dates.
On the first Sunday of Advent, November 29th we will have our HANGING of the GREENS service with the congregation decorating the sanctuary for the upcoming Christmas Season. As a Church with a Mission, we collect and support WHITE GIFTS which go in support of Women in Crisis and Chalmers Community Services on December 6. A fun service is planned to reminisce of a former Christmas Concert presentation as we relive “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on December 13. A traditional CHIRSTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT service will have doors open to everyone at 7pm.
As you see our year of celebration is not over and DOORS are OPEN to welcome you.
