Butterfly Sightings
Today I had a gardening helper. It was a red spotted purple!
These are native butterflies that have erratic population cycles and this year is the first time in several years that I have seen one. They are enjoying the Dame’s Rocket in bloom. Their larval plants are the cherry family. They seem to love the pin cherry followed by the choke cherry.
Keep your eyes open for the truly are a beautiful butterfly that you only occasionally see.
